Bronco Driver Staff

Publisher & Owner: Tom Broberg

Tom has been servicing the magazine industry for the past two decades. The day to day exposure to clients magazine titles drove a passion to launch a magazine in the automotive field of personal enthusiasm - Ford Motor Company and the old Ford Broncos! Tom (along with John) organized and launched Bronco Driver Magazine in 2001. Tom works on the overall business management of Bronco Driver magazine including day to day operations, subscriptions, newsstand circulation, and ad sales.

He is also in charge of coordinating the Screamin' Demon Project Bronco.

Tom can be seen around East Tennessee driving his Early Bronco or one of the other Magazine Project Broncos.

Publisher & Owner: John Goethert

Twenty years of design and marketing experience has culminated to allow John to work with his first love: the automotive industry. John is in charge of coordinating the stories/photos as well as the physical building of the magazine. John takes all the 'stuff' you send and decides how to best make it work in the magazine.

Plus, he is in charge of the design and maintenance of this website.

John is project head for the buildup of Project: Full Force. His goal is to build the truck and write up the process as a layman, not an experienced gearhead.

Early Bronco Tech and Q&A's: Mike "Greaseball" Dyster

Mike has been involved with the early Broncos since 1974. He has been active in rock crawling all his life. He and his family currently own three Broncos: a 66, 69 and 75. When not out on the rock, Mike is working on one of two, 1967 Ford Fairlane drag cars. Mike owns and operates Red Mountain Broncos in Cortez. And since it is in the center of the "Rock Crawling" capital of the United States (Moab, Cortez, Farmington, Las Cruces) it provides him with some of the most extreme rock crawling conditions to gain knowledge of components and engineering. All of his vehicles used in component testing are tested in actual rock crawling conditions. He consults on a daily basis with aerospace engineers in regards to materials, stresses and manufacturing processes used in off-road equipment. He is able to obtain this information as the family member who owns the 75 Bronco, and the biggest gear head of all, is his son the aerospace engineer. His daughter is also a rock crawler. Her and her husband are the proud owners of the '69 Bronco.

Mike looks forward to your questions and hopes to give you affordable and practical down to earth advice with his articles.
Mike is a member of Four Corners Canyon Climbers Off-Road Group, Colorado Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs and United Four Wheel Drive Association.

Full Size Bronco Tech and Q&A's: Daniel Perkins

Dan's dash when he purchased his '84. You know he's good if he fixed this!

Got a Full Size Bronco question? Dan is the man! Dan has agreed to come onboard to help with full size problems... both tech Q&A's and finding (or even writing) those articles for the ever growing numbers 78-96 owners.

If he is not busy fixing a friend's truck at 3am, Dan can be regulary spotted with his 1984 Bronco "Midnight Thunder" at local offroad events, or welding on Project: Barn Built Bronco.

Horsing Around: Steve Sampson

Steve Sampson will be the author of the regular feature in the magazine "Horsing Around" which tells of all the EBR's events and club happenings.

As well as being longtime editor of Horsing Around, Steve is an Early Bronco Registry cofounder, Past-President, VP and Conservation. He is also chairman of a number of annual events and the 40 Anniversary Head.

Steve & his wife Eileen have owned a 1970 Bronco for over 15 years, and it is well modified to include an EFI 5.0L engine, custom everything (interior, paint, suspension, etc.), dual lockers, etc.

Left for Dead and other feature stories: Ron Schartiger

Like most of us, Ron is one of those guys for whom owning a Ford truck is not a choice, it's a lifestyle. If there is a Bronco (or other Ford truck) within 200 miles of Western Maryland, Ron and family know about it, and have talked to the owner extensively about its history. And many of those trucks end up in one of three places: the pages of Bronco Driver, the pages of True Blue Trucks, or in one of Ron's "soon to be restored" barns.

History, Tech & Feature Stories: Todd Zuercher

An engineer by profession, Todd Zuercher enjoys developing and reporting on new technologies for Broncos, particularly in the areas of suspension and braking systems. As an amateur historian, he also enjoys writing historical articles on the Bronco. His focus in this area has been researching and writing about Bill Stroppe-prepared Broncos from the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Todd has been a member of Arizona Classic Bronco for many years and served two terms as president. Todd is also a longtime member of the EBR (Early Bronco Registry) and helped co-found the EBML (Early Bronco Mailing List) in February of 1995. When he's not typing on a keyboard, he enjoys traveling to Bronco events in the Western U.S., four wheeling his favorite trails, exploring old mining camps, and attending as many off-road races as his schedule will allow.

Todd and early Broncos became inextricably linked when a faded blue '69 Bronco joined the family in 1981. With the odometer now showing almost 300,000 miles, Todd still drives the same Bronco today.
